Last week we got to enter the Costa Pacifica cruise ship while she was docked in Stockholm. We got to hear the latest about the cruise line, the future for Costa. We also got a tour of the ship and we got to eat some amazing Italian food! So come with us to one of Europes largest cruise lines!

About Costa Cruises
Being part of the Costa Group the Costa Group have 27 ships and in 2021 they will add six more to their fleet. A new addition is also that some of them will be run on LNG (liquefied natural gas). I love the fact that the company is trying to do good by nature and I hope that it will turn out to be perfect for the environment.
Today there are 27 000 people hired by the company. They have 250 destinations worldwide where they invite people to take a cruise on one of their ships. And for the people that really love to cruise, they offer a round-the-world-cruise and let you travel in Jules Verne’s footsteps. Costa Groups are the only company that sells under the Italian flag. They take pride in that due to the fact that the Italian part stands for hospitality, gastronomy, and class.
The Scandinavian cruise passenger
A survey shows that 64 percent of the Swedish people will try a cruise. Personally, we have cruised A LOT and we love this way of traveling. The comfort, the entertainment, the food – well there are not many downsides to cruising. The Swedes want to try a new kind of vacation and that’s why they are interested in trying a cruise.
And a perfect thing is that Costa Cruises will take away all the hidden fees. A lot of cruise lines have add-ons like the tip for the crew or the service charge. With Costa, you will always know the price of the cruise! I think that this is a great improvement! Swedes like to relax and explore during their vacation (like most living people, I believe). If you go on a cruise with Costa you can either join them on excursions to explore the island or you can do that by yourself.
Walking around the Costa Pacifica
While we were on the Costa Pacifica, we got to take a tour around the ship. The most impressive by far was their kitchen. I have never seen such a big kitchen before and with that many cooks! We walked and walked and the kitchen just continued, several spaces and through corridors. Usually, the kitchen is closed for “regular people” but Costa Pacifica have a tour that they offer and that is “behind the scenes”.
We also got to see different cabins, restaurants, and the theatre. The coolest thing ever is that once you are onboard you don’t feel like you are on the water. You feel like you are in a castle or something. And the Italians sure know how to pimp their stuff. The ship is so colorful and designed that we were both amazed and mortified (in a good way).
Italian food at Costa Pacifica
If the food is of the same quality as it was during our visit at Costa Pacifica then I need to get aboard that ship again soon! Three letters in big letter OMG! First off there was so much food that even if you’d take two plates you would still not get it all. I ate ham and cheese and pasta and vegetables and bread and caviar and fruits and chocolate and ice-cream and cakes and everything that is edible.
They were even serving oysters and no – we still don’t like them. However, this time Mini ate a whole one so that’s a progress. But Peter (from Freedom Travel) ate the rest of our oysters and he said that they are amazing so we trust him! Yes, the food was incredible – check out the pictures and judge for yourself!
