Rent an E-bike in St. Anton Am Alberg
Several different companies in the city rent out e-bikes. Well, the e-mountainbike is the correct word because it is equipped with an electric motor and broad tires that are easy to ride. When you rent an e-bike, you’ll also rent a helmet so that you will be safe. They will show you and teach you if you don’t know how to ride an e-bike. It was my first time on an e-bike and I was a little worried. Mini was fine from the get-go and just eager to get away but I felt a bit insecure at first.
After about 15 minutes I was fine and I was riding the bike like there was no tomorrow. When you pick up your e-bike it is fully charged and you can bike pretty far before the battery runs low (50-100 km). However, always make sure to check with the renting place what range the bike has so that you don’t run out. The e-bike becomes heavy if the power runs out so you will need the battery to last. The bike that I got weighed 27 kilograms. I did not have to think about the battery at all and when it was returned there was still more than half of the battery left.
Tip: When you rent the bike, they will tell you to keep the electric help at a lower power so that you don’t run out of battery. If you are not going very far, you can max the power of the bike. It makes for an easier ride and you don’t have to struggle when going uphill.
Our experience of E-Mountainbiking in St Anton
This is our second time in Austria but first time in St Anton am Arlberg. We had a great day e-biking from St Anton to Konstanz Hütte. We were in a group with other journalists and bloggers, and we all enjoyed the day very much. E-biking is something for everyone. Mini was off and had a different experience. For some reason, he was biking like he was born doing that. I struggled a bit more in the beginning, but after a while, I got it, and I liked it.
My favorite part was the meeting with the cows. It trumped all other things. In the second place, it was the view and the stunning mountains. Mini’s favorite part was the e-biking itself and then the mountains and views. So to sum it all up – we loved the experience and would love to do that again someday.
REnt a e-bike: there are several different places where you can rent a bike. they are all well maintained and we are pretty sure that you will be happy no matter where you rent your bike. Make sure to put your helmet on and THEN you are good to go!
E-biking from St. Anton to Wagner hütte
It all started with a long uphill road mostly on asfalt. After about ten minutes it all became gravel roads but easy to ride. We met farmers who were bringing their cows back from pasture during our ride. The sounds of the belles that the cows have around their necks make a great sound. During the bike ride, we are surrounded by the majestic mountains. Our first stop on the biking tour is Wagner Hütte, a place where it’s time for us to take a break and get something to eat. This part was 5,5 km long and takes around 30-45 minutes.
When we arrived we got some sandwiches, and coffee and got to listen to the Austrian Tourism Board when they presented different cities that the Country has to offer. No, this is not a thing that happens here on a regular basis. Since we are here on a press trip this is arranged for us. However, the Hütte is open to the public and you can stop here and grab something refreshing before you continue your bike ride.
E-biking from st. Anton to konstanzer Hütte
Back on our mountain bikes, we continue our ride. Now this part was kind of tough in the beginning. We went uphill for about 20 minutes. We pass more amazing views and the road takes us all the way to Konstanzer Hütte. It takes about 35 minutes from Wagner Hütte to get there. And there are several places where you can stop on your way. Go straight to the Hütte for lunch and decide where to stop on our way back. The last part is a pretty steep hill but with the bikes, it is no problem!
We have a great lunch. The food is delicious and we are planning to take a hike to the Langsee, a mountain lake not too far from Konstanzer Hütte. A round trip takes about 1,5 hours and we are all eager to go there. Unfortunately, the weather changes fast and the rain is about to hit us. Since we have pretty far to get back to St. Anton we had to skip the hike and start getting back to the hotel.
Stopping at Verwallsee During E-biking
There is a lovely hiking trail around the lake Verwallsee. We pass it on our e-mountain bikes and decide to stop here for a while. The lake looks calm and impressive and some are even talking about taking a dip. It’s a big NO for us since we like the water to be a bit warmer. In the end, we all end up enjoying the playground and we take turns on the zip line. No wonder this place is popular with families.
The hiking trail around the lake takes about 2,5 hours and is considered to be a moderate hike. However, since we are biking one part of the trail we can’t really say anything about that – only that it is a beautiful place. The lake is a great place to visit and you can bring your own food and drinks. Sit down and enjoy the tranquility for a while and then head on to your next stop.
