Bertahof Camping is located in the beautiful Gastein in Austria. Here you spend your leisure time surrounded by the great Alps. It’s a great gateway to your vacation, whether you are here during the winter for skiing or during summer for hiking. We spent a couple of days at Bertahof Camping, and we fell in love with this place.

Bertahof Camping, Austria will keep you young

The camping here is like coming to a slice of paradise. It almost looks like this camping was meant to be here – down in the valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains. We came here during summer and saw the green hills instead of the white, snowy ones that you can see during the winter. This is a place that will keep you young. The proof is in the woman who is part of this place.
She is 90 years old and still works here. When we were checking in, she came on a bike and took us to the chalet that we were staying in. We had some difficulties with the language (since our German is non-existent), and her English was limited as well. However, we made it, and we could feel all the positive energy at this campsite. It’s super impressive to see a woman at her age being so active. And it’s all because of the fresh air and the relaxing environment that is called Bertahof Camping.
You can also explore Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein from here or take a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the Gastein Valley in winter.
The Facilities at Bertahof Camping

The campsite has all the facilities you might need during your visit. The plots are quite big, and if you want, you can add electricity to your motorhome or camper. The showers are clean, and you can see that this place has gotten a facelift. It has been renovated, and now everything is fresh and nice. There is no swimming pool here, but that’s no problem since there’s a natural lake just across the street. And if you want, you can also visit the Alpentherme in Bad Hofgastein.
If you come during summer, as we did, and the weather is nice, you can take a dip and relax in the lake. If you get hungry, there’s a campsite restaurant that serves traditional Austrian meals. It is a bit on the high end, but the food is good, and the place is often busy. Discover more of the region in our Austria travel guide
Staying at The Chalet at Bertahof Camping

Since we didn’t bring our motorhome to Austria, we got to stay in their beautiful chalet. It has been renovated, and it has everything that you need. We had our own bathroom and shower, so we didn’t have to leave the room to use the toilet. The bedroom was really nice, and we slept like babies. Even though we didn’t watch TV, there is one here for your pleasure.
We ended up having a great time at Bertahof Camping, where we felt at peace. Unfortunately, our yoga mats were left in Sweden, and we didn’t really have the time to relax (since we had so much that we wanted to explore). We can recommend Bertahof Camping to everyone who wants to explore Gastein and the Alps. But there’s one more thing that we want to share with you. This was the highlight of our stay here…
The Breakfast at Bertahof Camping

We have traveled all around the world, and we have stayed at some excellent places. However, the breakfast that we got while staying at the Bertahof Camping was something else. We got it delivered to our chalet, and I don’t even know how to start describing this… maybe it’s best to let the pictures speak for themselves this time. Oh, and one last thing. There’s a coffee machine with capsules inside the chalet to get amazing coffee with your breakfast.
