A visit to the Regional Museum in Kristianstad was on the schedule and with high expectations in mind, we trotted there! Inside the museum, there are 6 exhibitions, 2 of which change and show different kinds of art.

The various exhibitions that they have now are:

Mini and I agreed that it was pretty dark inside the museum overall. I’ve heard that textiles need to be stored in dark spaces to prevent them from spoiling, but why most of the other exhibits were so dark I don’t really understand.
Here old is mixed with new, interesting with less interesting, and light with dark (even if the dark dominates).

At times it felt like it would have been the perfect place to have a ghost tour and I can understand if small children find it creepy in large parts of the exhibits. It is good because it lays perfect in the city center of Kristianstad.
What was really good is that some of the exhibits are very interactive, so you can watch film clips, put on headphones listen to information open shutters, etc.

Of the old antiques found in Skåne, the mammoth was a clear favorite and do you know why the mammoths died out? Because there were no Papputar… haha haha our kind of humor 😉

According to Mini, it was better before – but he does not mean that the exhibition made him see that it was better before, but he means that the museum was better before. He remembers being there with the class and that they then had cannons and weapons that you got to look at. Unfortunately, these are no longer available today, something that disappointed Mini! Entry to the Museum is free and that in itself makes it worth a visit when you are in Kristianstad!
